Busy Busy Busy!

posted October 12, 2009 by derrik

We are at the busy time of year now! There are a lot of birthdays, anniversaries and holidays to cover in just a few short months.

First, little baby Gretch just turned one! The last year has flown by. I forgot how quickly they grow and change. She is walking pretty well with a little push cart and she took her first steps on her own last night. They were just two tiny steps, but they were steps nonetheless. I'm excited to see her run around the house.

We actually babysat and had to take Gretch to urgent care for pink eye! No fun. We will be celebrating this coming Saturday by going to our first Blackhawks game of the year. With Gretch being born right before the season started last year, we did not get to go to any games in 08-09. Now we have to make up for it! Grayce is a little mad at us for going without her so we will have to take her to a game later this year. She loves going to hockey games.

Mary and I will hopefully be going to the Bears/Browns game on Nov 1 as well. We are waiting to hear back on the tickets situation, so hopefully that turns out. It would be my first Bears game, and only my second NFL game. I went to a Colts game with my dad when I was really young, but I hated it at the time. Plus, it was the Colts so how can you really enjoy it anyway?

Halloween is just around the corner. I think it's going to be a very cold Halloween too. Gretch may not be able to go out this year. Her and I may stay home and pass out candy while Mary and Grayce go trick-or-treating. Grayce says she wants to dress up like a princess, but an eskimo may be the better choice with the current weather.

After that, Grayce will be turning 6! This is the first year she is going to have a separate birthday party with just her friends. I think she has decided on going cosmic bowling at the Brunswick XL and then having a sleepover. The family birthday party will be the following Saturday in Lafayette. Hope to see everyone there!

Right now it’s time to relax and get ready for tonight’s Blackhawks game. See you all soon.

Grayce Sings "7 Days of the Week"

added August 14, 2010

We recorded Grayce singing "7 Days of the Week" when she was two and a half. She had such a soft sweet voice back then.
