Woot!
posted December 21, 2009 by derrikSome of you may have heard Mary or I talk about Woot before. It's a site that sells one item every day, starting at midnight central time, at a discounted rate. Most of the time it is some sort of electronic gadget. Shipping is always $5 regardless of the size or weight of the item you buy. The item is available until it sells out or until midnight the next day, whichever comes first. They really have some great deals sometimes.
Every month and a half or so Woot has a "Woot-off" where they sell an item until it is gone, then immediately post another item instead of waiting until midnight. A Woot-off typically goes on for 2-3 days.
The "holy grail" of Woot is to get a Bag of Crap. Every now and then Woot sells a "bag" (it's actually a box) that contains at LEAST 3 items in it for $3 + $5 shipping. It is extremely difficult to get. They usually sell 1500 of them and it is gone in under a minute. Sometimes you get awesome stuff, and sometimes you get not-so-awesome stuff. But it's always worth the $8 at least. We have been trying for a year or two and finally got one. Well, we actually got four total over the last couple of months. Mary and I both got one last month. They both arrived on Saturday and were the best ones we have received so far.

As you can see, well worth the $8! The R/C car that Mary got retails for around $100 alone. I highly recommend the Woot Bag of Crap. Good luck!
