Summer is almost over!
posted August 13, 2010 by maryI can't believe that we are already in August, where did the summer go? The girls are sunkissed, mosquito bitten and rosy cheeked. But then again... so am I!
The school year once again has come upon us, just a few more day until our Grayce will be an OFFICIAL first grader. Wow... how did that happen? She of course is DYING to get back to school. She misses it, and I kinda don't blame her. After being stuck at home all summer with boring Daddy she's ready to have fun again (haha).
Grayce will be in a "multiage" classroom. Basically (from what I understand so far) it means that she will be in a classroom that is 1st and 2nd grade together. Benefits to this, I think she'll learn more. Drawbacks... she'll have the same teacher for 2 years and will be with first graders.. next year. I'm not sure how this is all going to work out, but the school is really pushing it. So if they believe it works, I'll go with it!
Gretchen has become a little talking machine, and also a terror. She's beating kids up left and right at Daycare and I'm not sure what to do about it. Idea's anyone? That kid is a BRUTE! Ah well, such is the life of a toddler!
I've started taking the Metra now. Suprisingly, it's very relaxing. I get total peace for an hour out of my day. I can listen to my MP3 player or read a book. Another plus, I don't have to deal with the idiot drivers around here!! It also saves our car and keep us car payment free for longer :) Saving money, WOO HOO!!!
Life is going to get busy here in a few weeks visits from parents, birthdays, holidays, school. I'm anxious to get it all over with, but really want life to slow down sometimes too.
Love to all, Congratulations Ben and Kylee Jo on your wedding. It was BEAUTIFUL! Also congrats to Derrik's friend Todd. Sorry we missed the wedding, mother nature was not being very cooperative that day!
